STEPHEN CURTIS PEEVY
April 25, 1951 to November 15, 2013
Stephen Curtis Peevy, (Pappy); passed away on Nov. 15 in Reno, with his family by his side. Steve was born on April 25, 1951, to Vilas and Eloise Peevy of Fort Smith, Ark. The family moved from Arkansas to Southern California when Steve was 6-years-old. Steve graduated from Sierra High School in Whittier, Calif. in 1969.
He married Pamela “Kay” Graham in 1970, and they had two children, Jessica, and Brandi. The family moved from California to Silver Peak in 1975, where Steve worked as an electrician for various companies. He and Kay divorced in 1991. Steve moved to Hawthorne in 1999.
Steve married Claudia Harmon, the love of his life, in August, 2006.
Steve had a love of music, fishing, camping, and arrowhead hunting. He loved his family dearly, and had numerous friends. Everyone loved Pappy. He was a great father, husband, brother and grandfather who will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents Vilas and Eloise, and his sister Dorothy. He is survived by his wife Claudia, of Hawthorne; His daughters, Jessica Quintana, (Jamie); granddaughter Arabella, of Laguna Beach, Calif. Brandi (Robert) Staton granddaughter, Riley, of Hawthorne; Sister Edwina Brown, (Myra) of Long Beach; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Come join us for a celebration of Steve’s life with a potluck and toasts at Gil’s Place, Nov, 30, starting at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Steve’s name be made to the American Heart Association, Harmon Recovery Foundation or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
