Warren C. Hagen

Warren C. Hagen passed away at home on Dec. 10, 2015 in Hawthorne. He was 69 years old.

Warren was born at home on Sept. 4, 1946, in White Sulphur Springs, Mont. He worked on cattle ranches in Montana for most of his younger years. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Korea for a portion of his active duty. After his time in the military, Warren worked all over the southwest as an equipment operator in states including Texas, Arizona and Utah. Finally, after years of work and travel, he settled in Hawthorne, a place he loved.

He was fond of horses and was very active in the local Horseman’s Association for over ten years. Warren had a soft spot in his heart for all animals, over his lifetime he had a plethora of rescue pets: kittens, chickens, dogs and even a calf. He worked well after his retirement into the last years of his life at “Cow Camp”; driving on the dirt road to it every day to tend the cattle was a special love of his, along with classic country music and dancing till the band quit.

He is survived by his son, Palmer Hagen; daughter, Bobbi Jo Hagen; stepdaughter, Katie Bozzi; stepson, Mike Reilly; seven grandchildren and longtime girlfriend Sally Reilly.
