Credit Union Holding Canned Food Challenge

Financial Horizons Credit Union is holding a Pennies Count challenge for local businesses and county offices to participate in a Can-Struction Challenge.

Each team participating will construct a structure out of canned foods and nonperishable items to be displayed in the business or office.

All of the food items used to build the structures will be collected by credit union employees and donated to the CAHS food bank.

Teams have until Friday, Oct. 11 at 12 p.m. to build their display. A team will then go around to participating teams and take photos. Judging will be on Thursday, Oct. 17 and winner announced on Oct. 18.

Presbyterian Bazaar Set for Nov. 2

The Presbyterian women will hold their bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be a soup and pie lunch served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be baked goods, white elephants and crafts available for sale.

Donations Requested for Thanksgiving Meal

It has come time for the American Legion and supporting entities to prepare to put on the annual Thanksgiving Meal, Thursday, Nov. 28. Once again the American Legion will order the food and supplies from Sysco to prepare and serve the meal. Meals are served and delivered at no charge to anyone who desires to have one. Donations are accepted and received. Cash donations from your organization to help the post defer the cost of the food and supplies are requested.
