On the heels of their first win of the season, the Mineral County High football team couldn’t make it two in a row as they fell to Virginia City at home Friday night, 70-52.
The two teams traded blows throughout the first half, and Virginia City would take a 28-26 lead into the locker room. The Muckers ran the ball with great success in the second half and were able to pull away after racking up a total of 602 rushing yards on the night.
Tabor Fletcher led both teams on the ground with 188 yards and three touchdowns while Wyatt Pieretti added three touchdowns of his own for Virginia City. The Muckers scored all 10 of their touchdowns via the run.
Mineral County (1-2) will look to rebound Friday night when they host Excel Christian (2-2) at 7 p.m.
