Janice Pelley was born in Marianna, Fla. on Dec. 7, 1957 to John W. and Nellie W. Morris. Jan attended school in Jackson and Washington County, Fla. She married Hank Pelley of Dec. 7, 1985 in St. Petersburg, Fla. Before they were married, Hank and Jan traveled around the country; residing in Tallahassee, Fla, Ourey, Colo. and Plainview, Texas. After they married, they settled in St. Petersburg for a while before moving to Hawthorne, Nev. After a short stay in Hawthorne, they moved to Statesville, N.C. They returned to Hawthorne and have resided here for the past four years.

Jan passed away at her home on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015 at about 3 a.m. She is survived by her husband, Hank Pelley, Sr. of Hawthorne, her daughter Lori Horn (Jim), her grandson Dylan and granddaughter Katarina of Marianna, Fla; her son Hank Pelley, Jr. (Beth) and granddaughter Hayden of Hot Springs, Ark. She leaves two brothers, Ronald Sloan (Debbie) of Panama City, Fla and F. Paul Morris (Margaret) of Hawthorne, Nev. She also leaves behind, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many friends. Jan is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Ivey, Lonnie, Calvin and Gaylon and one sister: Lillian.

Jan was a loving wife and an adoring mother. She was precious and a very dear person to all those that knew and loved her. She will be missed enormously. Simple words are never enough. How does one say goodbye to one so dear? We love you Jan and we will hold onto the promise and belief that we will see you again someday. May God bless you and may He give us strength to endure the loss we will feel every day until we do see you again. Goodbye sweet angel.
