Longtime resident Arthur Cox, Sr. came to the end of his earthly journey on Dec. 7, 2016. Born to Archie L. and Cager L. Cox on Nov. 19, 1948 in Bastrop, La. Arthur confessed his faith in Christ at an early age. Art served his country well. He was drafted at the age of 17 years old to the United States Army and continued his dedication for eight years. Art was honorable discharged as a disabled Veteran. He attended Mineral County Schools and graduated in 1966.
Arthur was a very friendly, family oriented and well-known gentleman. Arthur was preceded in death by his mom, Cager L. Cox and sister, Bobbie Jean Cox Greenwood. Arthur leaves behind his father, Archie L. Cox; one son, Arthur J. Cox Jr.; brothers: Pastor Robert E (Lelia), Archie, Jr. (Christy) Oregon; sisters: Rita Mackedon of Fallon, Kellie Cox of Hawthorne; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and plenty of friends. Arthur will have a memorial service Jan. 7, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church.
