The Mineral County PAC for Limited government collected enough signatures from Mineral County registered voters to compel commissioners to consider repealing the county’s Nuisance Abatement Ordinance.
The committee submitted 253 signatures to the county clerk last week. Of the 253 collected, the clerk found 11 invalid signatures. The committee needed 204 signatures for consideration by commissioners of Mineral County.
Commissioners will examine the petition during a future meeting that includes public discussion. They have up to 30 days after the meeting to decide whether to repeal the original ordinance or to put the issue on the ballot this coming November.
