The Mineral County High School football team had its season come to an end Friday night after an 84-72 loss at Tonopah.

The Serpents trailed 46-36 at half, but rallied to tie the game at 60 after three quarters. The Muckers outscored Mineral County 24-12 in the fourth to secure the win.

Mineral County missed out on the playoffs and Tonopah earned the No. 2 seed and will take on No. 1 seed Virginia City in the playoffs Saturday. No. 1 Eureka will take on No. 2 Spring Mountain to round out the top of the 1A bracket.

The Serpents finished with an overall record of 6-3 on the season.
