William Joseph (Bill) Rucker passed away on March 3 in Cebu, Philippines. Bill was born June 13, 1932 in Portsmouth, Va.. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Allen Rucker and Gladys Kingston Tennant Rucker. He had one sister, Gladys Rucker Awbrey.
TSGT Bill Rucker was a Korean War veteran and retired from the Air Force in 1971. His last duty station was the radar site in Hawthorne. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked civil serviced, retiring in 1989. Bill was a lifetime member of Hawthorne VFW Post 2313.
Bill married his wife Arlene on July 18, 1991 and shortly thereafter moved to the Philippines where they lived their retirement years together, returning regularly to visit all of his loving Nevada family.
Bill is survived by his wife of 27 years, Arlene; their sweet yellow lab, Lady; his large Phillippine family; his children: Janice Rucker, Bill (Cass) Rucker, Randy Rucker (all of Hawthorne) and Terrie (Don) Rucker-Sondag (Reno); his grandchildren: Stephanie Isom-Keuhey, Courtney Isom, Kyle Isom (all of Hawthorne), Matthew Rucker (Elko), Tracey (Sheldon) Sondag-Tuck (Reno), Brain Rucker (Florida); his great-grandchildren: Jared Keuhey, Jerzi Moody-Isom, Cole Robinson (all of Hawthorne) and Hayden Rucker (Elko).
Bill was laid to rest on March 10, 2019 in Cebu, Philippines. Bill will forever be missed by all of his loving family and friends.
