Robert Otis Sharp

Robert Otis Sharp (Bob) 82 years old passed away April,27 2018 at his home in Buhl, Idaho. Bob was born June 14, 1935 in Vermillion Alberta, Canada to Clarice J. and Phyllis Lillian Sharp.

He is survived by his spouse of 64 years, Janae P. Sharp. Six Children, Patti (Sharp) Kruger, Bobbi Content (Brad), Tammy Brown (Bill), Tommy Sharp, Robin Henson (James) and Phyllis Sharp.

Seventeen grandchildren: Billy Kruger, Heidi Bromley, Amanda, Altenburg, Jimmy Content, Jay Sharp, Jason Kruger, Chrissie Content, Jaime Henson, Brianna Content, Angie Wright, Tyler Content, Shantae Mitchell, Travis Sharp, Brian Sharp, Ray Henson, Mary Mixa, Shawn Wilson, Brandy Sharp and a special nephew, Shane McNamar. He is also survived by 41 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his brother, Milton Sharp, Bernard Sharp (Peggy), Patricia Fisk (Don) and Gladys Porter (Bob).

Bob moved to Hawthorne Nevada with his family when he was seven years old, graduating from Mineral County High School in 1954 with a scholarship in football to Coffeyville, Kan. Bob set many records in high school football and track and had the opportunity to play professional football but turned down the opportunity to take care of his family.

He married Janae Tyler in December of 1953 in Reno. After college they returned to Hawthorne where Bob worked as a machinist. He spent his career working as a machinist, spending several years as an instructor for machinists at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. He ended his career in Las Vegas as part of the N.E.S.T. team for the Department of Energy.

After retiring, Bob and Janae spent 14 years motor homing visiting family while attending many family events. After they were done traveling they made their home in Buhl, Idaho.

Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting and tinkering. He is known as “the man who could fix anything “and was loved by anyone who happened to cross his path.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother: Larry Sharp and sister: Yvonne McMurphy

There will be no services at this time. There will be a Celebration of Bob’s life on Sept. 1, 2018, Labor Day weekend in Buhl, Idaho.
