The car had been located in late January by the hunter and reported to Lyon County Sheriff’s Office who dispatched with SAR members to the location.

The hunter stated to Lyon County that he had found the vehicle and followed footprints from the vehicle to Highway 182, but did not see the person who had abandoned the car.

This discovery helps the family of missing Jeffrey Keidser who left the Redondo Beach, Calif. area with his sister’s dog, Frankie on Jan. 23.

His brother had told authorities that Keidser had been struggling with delusional thoughts and could have possibly thought people were out to get him.

Keidser had last been seen in a t-shirt, sweatpants and sandals but a receipt found in the car shows that he had stopped in Bishop, Calif. and purchased snow boots and other winter items.

Keidser is 6 foot tall, 180 pounds with blue eyes and thin, short hair. He worked as a dog walker and pet sitter in California at the time of his disappearance.

Anyone who may have seen a person matching the description of Keidser is urged to contact the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office at 775-945-2434.
