The 7th and 8th grade Hawthorne Rockets captured the Sagebrush League Mountain Division titles over the weekend.

The 7th grade Rockets won their eighth straight championship by defeating Smith Valley in the semifinal game and then dominating Virginia City in the championship game.
Devayne Isom and Cade Torres led the scoring while Brock Barton, Jaevaun Jones and Cole Robinson rounded out the starting line-up. There were nineteen Rockets from 4th, 5th and 6th grades that contributed and all got in the final game.
The 8th grade won their sixth championship in eight years by defeating Oasis of Fallon and then defeating Coleville in the final game. The 8th grade got off to a slow start and found themselves 5 points behind at halftime. The Rockets came out determined in the 2nd half with tough defense which got the offense moving as they outscored the Wolverines 35-12 in the second half.
The 8th Rockets were led by Andre White, Drake Spanier, Joe Davis, Preston Larramendy and Tristen Jones, a 7th grader. Martin Waggoner, 7th grade and Bryce Stephens, 6th grade, all greatly contributed in the win as well as all season. Their record was 11-1.
