After three wins the previous week, the Mineral County High softball team won three more over the last week to run its winning streak to six games.

The girls raced out to an 18-5 lead in game one of their doubleheader against Whittell last Thursday and held off the Warriors late rally to win 22-18. The senior duo of Hailey Lahre and Madeline Bennett each picked up a triple and four RBIs in the win while Amyah Boyd had four RBIs of her own on two hits. Mineral County welcomed Pyramid Lake to town on Tuesday and came away with a 20-6 win. The Lakers came out of the gate with six runs in the first inning before the home team answered with 11 in the bottom half, and pitcher Julieanna Williams shut down the visitors the rest of the way. The senior allowed just one hit over the final four innings and also notched two RBIs at the dish. Lahre led the way on offense with a triple, home run and three RBIs. Boyd also had a home run and Bennett added three hits.

The Lady Serpents ran their record to 7-2 overall and will host Carlin for a pair of games on Saturday beginning at 12 p.m.
