The Mineral County High football team raced out to an early lead at Excel Christian and held off the Warriors in the second half to win 74-46 last Friday afternoon.

Excel’s offense posted 32 points in the first half, but the Serpents blanked them in the third quarter to take control of the game. It was the third time this season that the Serpents scored more than 70 points.

Mineral County (6-2, 4-2) remains tied for third place with Smith Valley in the 1A Northern West division.

They will travel to Coleville (3-4, 2-4) Saturday at 1 p.m. for their final game of the regular season.
