The VFW Auxiliary to VFW Post 2313 would like to thank everyone for their support during the 8th Annual Leonard Schaar Memorial Kick in For Cancer Event. The event began with a 5K Walk/Run with beautiful weather and followed by burritos and Bloody Mary’s.
A bean bag toss was held later in the afternoon with the Robert’s Team (Joe and Jaden) taking the first-place prize of $100. The winners of the children’s division were Ryan Roberts and Dalton Jaramillo each receiving a bag of goodies.
The dinner, raffle, and music by the “Millionaires” completed the evening. The winners of the raffle were Maria Cruz – $500, Teresa McNally – $100 and Jackie Wiggins – $50, with some of the winnings donated back. Thank you.
Because of the support of all of you, we were able to send funds to a research facility. These research facilities continue to work to not only find treatments but are hopefully getting closer to finding a cure for all cancers.
Again, we want to thank all of you for your support by attending our event and to those individuals and businesses who just donated. Thank you to all of you who helped to set up, work the events, serve foods and clean up before and after the event. Without your help, we would not have been able to have such a successful event.
