The week started off strong for the Mineral County High softball team after they knocked off Tonopah 13-1 last Tuesday, but ended in disappointment when the girls dropped both games of a doubleheader at home to Wells on Saturday.
Julieanna Williams and Hailey Lahre led the way for the Lady Serpents win against Tonopah. Williams finished with a pair of hits and five RBIs while Lahre had three hits of her own knocked four runs in. Tiera McFalls and Jesslyn Gomez each added three hits, and Amanda Rivero went the distance on the mound and struck out two.
Taylor McFalls registered the only hit for Mineral County in the game-one 10-0 loss to Wells on Saturday. Game two wasn’t any better as the Lady Serpents only mustered two hits in an 11-0 loss.
The team finishes out the regular season schedule Saturday with a doubleheader at Carlin.
