Thousands of Nevada National guardsmen and members of the Reserve who served at least 20 years but never spent more than 179 consecutive days on active duty will be affected by the Jeff Miller and Richard Blumenthal Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2016 that grants federally recognized veteran status.
