A children’s choir sings a Christmas carol on the morning of Dec. 25 at the Hawthorne Convention Center. More than 100 people gathered as local congregations came together to celebrate the day.

Christmas morning brought some local congregations together in a unified celebration at the Hawthorne Convention Center. With more than 100 people attending, the shared moments of singing Christmas songs together brought smiles and special wishes.

A children’s choir sang “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” with their full voices creating an excitement, while cameras were snapping and the audience responded in full applause.

Sharing the pulpit, Pastor Jackson from Macedonia Baptist Church gave the opening words about the story of Christmas as recorded in the gospel of Matthew, following carols sang by the Bethel Baptist Church choir members. Pastor Mike Fontaine from First Southern Baptist Church of Hawthorne brought a message of hope from passages in the gospel of Luke and Pastor Cox from Bethel Baptist shared in the final words within this inspirational morning.

Following the service many stayed for refreshments, visiting with one another.
