Golden Gate Petroleum in Hawthorne is home to eight Tesla charging stations.

Tesla Motors Club has opened its ninth direct current charging station in the Silver State.

Known as “Superchargers” the charging station opened on May 4 at Golden Gate Petroleum, located in Hawthorne. The Hawthorne Supercharger hub is capable of handling up to eight Tesla vehicles at one time.

Tesla Motors has seen a large volume of reservations for their first mass-market vehicle, the Model 3, where nine charging stations have been opened in the state that now houses the Tesla Gigafactory in Reno.

Travelers going between Hawthorne and Las Vegas can also recharge in Beatty, which was opened in February. Stations are expected to open in Tonopah and Fallon, later this year.
