HAWTHORNE EASTER EGG HUNT SET FOR SATURDAY
The Hawthorne annual Easter egg hunt, sponsored by Mineral County Park and Recreation will be held Saturday, March 26 at 10 a.m. at Lions Park, with a visit from the Easter Bunny. 5K9 RUN-WALK-WAG EVENT SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 9
The 5K9 Run-Walk-Wag will be held on Saturday, April 9 beginning at Veterans Park. This is a non-competitive race where a K-9 partner is welcome, but not required. (But dogs must remain on a leash.) Registration fee is $20 if registered by April 3 or $30 if later. All proceeds will benefit the Rollie Rather Scholarship fund for a graduating senior.

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES TONIGHT
Mineral County High School/Jr. High School will be having parent/teacher conferences on Thursday, March 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the main building of the high school and the library. Students will be dismissed at noon.
The staff would like to invite all parents and guardians to come to the high school/ jr. high school and support their child. For further information you may contact the school at 945-3332 x 10. March 25 is a minimum school day with students being dismissed at noon.
There is no school the following week, March 28- April 1, which is Spring Break. School will resume on Monday, April 4.
HUNTER SAFETY CLASS ON TAP IN MINA
A hunter’s safety class will be held at the Mina Fire Station on April 16 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Instructor is Willfred Buffington. Cost is $5.
Art Class slated for Friday A “What’s In Your Oil Bag” class will be held on Friday, March 25 at 5 p.m. at Souled Out – Wellness, Art & Education Center in Hawthorne.

HAWTHORNE TRAP CLUB MEETING MARCH 31
The Hawthorne Trap Club will be holding a meeting on Thursday, March 31 at 6 p.m. at the Mineral County Library. This important meeting will determine the future of the Hawthorne Trap Club.
Topics will include possible reorganization plans with new directors and officers. If new leadership is not formed then plans will be made to disband the club and the trap range. Persons interested in becoming Hawthorne Trap Club officers and directors are urged to attend.
EASTER MORNING 5KRUN/WALK SLATED
The Walker River Diabetes Program will host the 2016 Easter Morning 5k run/walk on March 27 at 8:30 a.m. The location of the run/walk will be held at the Fitness Center, 1107 Cottonwood Drive in Schurz.
The cost of the event will be $25 for pre-registered runners and walkers and $30 day of the race, entry includes a race t-shirt and awards to age category winners.
