Our beloved Marge – Mom – Mamo began her journey to the happy hunting ground – our Lord’s Kingdom on Tuesday, March 15, 2016.
Marge was born on April 24, 1930 in San Bernardino, Calif. She is the oldest of five: two brothers and two sisters. After graduating from high school she went to work for General telephone and on Aug. 1, 1953 married her high school sweetheart, Buddy Lemmond. Marge was a Navy wife from 1953 until 1967.
They raised three children, moved to Hawthorne in 1972 and worked at the Naval Ammo Depot, retiring in 1992.
During her life, Marge was very active in Hawthorne as the President of the BPO Does, President of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. She volunteered thousands of hours to the community and enjoyed every minute of it. Some of her favorites were the Elks Hoop Shoot and Nevada Girls State.
Marge and Bud traveled extensively in Nevada and throughout the United States, enjoying several adventures and cruises for over a decade.
Marge loved to laugh; sing; dance; travel and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was an amazing woman, Mother and an inspiration to many. She was blessed with a blended family and enjoyed teaching them card games and telling them wonderful stories about her childhood. She loved to joke around and would frequently wrestle with the kids.
Marge is survived by her husband, Bud Lemmond; brother, Clennie and sister, Angie; her children: Bud (wife, Barb); Frances (husband, Rich) and Lenny (wife, Kelli); her 10 grandchildren: Stephen; Kyle; Will; Josh; Joe; Richard; Chantelle; Brandon; Dakota and Hunter; her eight great grandchildren: Nevaeh; Levi; Hannah; McKinley; Lexi; Kamryn; Sophie and Gabriella.
The people Marge (Mom) touched are many; the hole left by her passing is immense. Her beautiful smile; friendship; compassion; generosity; humor and love will be greatly missed.
Thank you to many that sent their condolences as well as those who attended Marge’s joyous Celebration of Life.
