A local Hawthorne eatery, Maggie’s Once More, is singing the song “The Way We Were” as they opened a second, smaller banquet room for groups that only need to seat eight to twenty people. Owner Sharon Lattin explained that the space was being reclaimed as before.
“It was an apartment at one time, but once my parent’s decided living and working at the same location was a little too much, the room was converted into restaurant space. Once we took the business back, it became a storage room, but we were finding that smaller meetings needed a private location. Many groups just didn’t require the space that our larger banquet room provided. This will be a solution for those wanting to hold bridal or baby showers, small meetings or more intimate family gatherings.”
Lattin explained that there is no charge for the room use, unless no food or drink items will be ordered. For room use only there was a nominal charge only to cover the heat or air and clean up. The smaller banquet room is already being booked, accommodating small holiday parties and get-togethers.
Maggie’s Restaurant has strived to continue meeting the needs of the community by adapting weekly specials at a reasonable cost, listening to the needs of the public and providing good, friendly service.
Lattin invites anyone to stop by and check out the new room to see if it will work for your next small event.
