The Western Pyrotechnics Association will be testing fireworks at the racetrack from Sept. 10-12.

Mineral County residents will be treated to a free weekend of fireworks as the Western Pyrotechnics Association brings their “Do It” event to Hawthorne.

Staging at the old racetrack, the association will be testing and designing new fireworks at the racetrack location.

Beginning Sept. 10 through 12, viewers can park along the roadway near the racetrack and treat their families to a firework show.

Viewers are allowed in authorized areas only and will be asked to move if within the nighttime perimeter.

Owners of pets that are uncomfortable with the sounds of the fireworks are asked to keep their pets inside until after 11 p.m.
