With much hope, searching and a lot of hard work, dreams can come true.
About five years ago the late Herman Millsap, Curator of the Hawthorne Ordnance Museum (HOM) saw a M47 Patton Armor Tank sitting in a yard in Sparks, that was awaiting to be restored.
He had a dream to have this tank or one like it on display at the Museum in Hawthorne.
In 2014 the M47 Tank had to find a new home and the Ordnance Museum offered to be that home.Through the hard work and dedicated effort of the new Curator of the Museum, Peter Papadopolas, the tank was delivered in Hawthorne on Friday, Jan. 16. Thanks to Gene and Mark of Sparks, the tank was delivered.
