2“It is the thought that counts” is a phrase that the Mineral County Girl Scout Troop 1120 are quickly learning.

For years, as National Guard soldiers come to our area to train, these young ladies are leading by example by donating their unbought cookies from sales to the multiple units that are training.

This year as these reserves were competing in a competition shoot called the Governor’s Cup, each was presented with a box of cookies.

Regardless if it is their first time to Mineral County or if they have been coming to our area for years, the soldiers are thankful for the small efforts given by the young ladies and their troop leaders. A statement from the National Guard unit members states, “We really appreciate all the hard work and dedication that Troop 1120 has done to sell cookies and especially the support (cookies) they have given to our military every year.

The Girl Scout Law states, “I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do…” The girls of Troop 1120 have shown just that.
