Abraham Speights
Abraham Speights was born May 8, 1924, to Abraham Speights Sr. and Minnie Bake. Abraham passed away on Feb. 20th 2014.
Abraham moved to Hawthorne in September 1952. He married Wileva Bell. Mr. Speights worked at Hawthorne Navy Deport where he got on medical disability; the Dry Cleaners and also at the Mineral County School District, as a janitor. He also managed The Pit later changed name to the Blue Light Bar.
Mr. Speights is survived by his wife, Wileva Speights and his children: Barbara Jean Speights of Miami, Fla.; Melvin James Graham; Herman Frank Graham; Chaletta Rene› Speights, all of Hawthorne; Delphine DaTarr Speights of New Jersey, Dwayne Andrews of Los Angeles, Darline Morton of Hawthorne, Lois Deneal Dupree of New Jersey.
Seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. A host of cousins; nephew›s; family and friends including his friend and brother, Ed Mitchell.
Services were held on Mar. 4.
The family wants to thank-you for all your prayers and support in our time of bereavement.
We want to express our deepest sympathy to the entire family for your loss. We both were raised in Hawthorne and remember Mr. Speights fondly. We hope you are comforted by all the love and prayers sent your way. And to our Darling Darlene much love dear friend, only my husband still has a crush on you!!!! ~ d ~
