In the midst of playing its best basketball of the season, The Mineral County High girls basketball team kept its momentum going over the week, picking up three crucial wins in a four game stretch.

The Lady Serpents routed Sierra Lutheran 42-17 on the road on Jan. 21, before picking up a huge 41-33 road win at Virginia City on Friday night.

Mineral County ran its win streak to five games on Saturday when they knocked off visiting Smith Valley 50-39. Taylor McFalls scored a game-high 18 points for the Lady Serpents in the win, and Danielle Wilson chipped in 17.

The win streak came to an end, however, on Tuesday night when the Lady Serpents fell on a last second shot to Pyramid Lake 48-46.

Up next, the Mineral County girls look to get back on the winning side when they travel to Sage Ridge on Friday and host Coleville on Saturday.
