The Hawthorne Elementary Lady Rockets basketball teams have been undefeated so far this season.

The season started on Sept. 10 against Virginia City. Both the seventh- and eighth-graders claimed a victory.

The seventh-graders won 18-12.

Perla Farias lead Rockets scoring with 10 points. She was followed by Cheyenne Walker who had four; and Jayla Tolliver and Kendalle Dummar, who each had two.

The eight-graders won 26-21.

Hailey Lahre had nine points to lead the Rockets. Julieanna Borwn had eight points; Claudia Benton and Raynee Knight each added four; and Madeline Bennett had one point.

After overcoming Virginia City, the Rockets faced off against Bridgeport on Sept. 12.

The eighth-graders overcame their opponents, 37-5.

Lahre and Brown once again lead the Rockets with 14 points; Jerzi Moody had three points; and Bennett, McKenna Cardenas, and Kylie Burrow each had two.

There was no seventh-grade game.

The teams both suited up again on Sept. 19 against Smith Valley.

The seventh-graders won their game 26-14.

Farias and Heidi Rosas lead Rockets scoring with 10 points. They were joined by Tolliver who had four; and Walker who added two.

The eighth-graders took a 26-12 victory.

Lahre was once again the leading scorer with 14 points. Burrow and Moody had four each; and Cardenas and Knight, each had a pair to round out the Lady Rockets scoring.
