The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) requires all individuals to have medical insurance coverage beginning January 1, 2014, or they must pay a penalty on their Federal Income Tax. Mt. Grant General Hospital will be sponsoring several meetings open to the public to explain the law and subsidies available to those who may need assistance paying for the mandated insurance premium.
The informational meetings will be held at the Mineral County Library Oct. 1 at 9 am, 12 p.m. and 5 p.m., and Oct. 2 at 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Each meeting will last approximately 30 minutes, with time available after meetings to help individuals enroll in the medical coverage. Appointments may also be made during the two day period. Open enrollment begins Oct. 1 with mandatory coverage beginning January 1, 2014.
