Students of any age, their parent, or other art-minded adults, are invited to attend craft classes at the Hawthorne Public Library. Classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday, from 4 to 6 p.m. Ms. Virginia Dumas, retired Mineral County School District art teacher, will be the instructor.

This week we will be making Knifty Knitter yarn hats for yourself, for Christmas presents, or for winter birthday gifts. You do not need to know how to knit to make these hats. Anyone from age 7 to 70 will find them an easy craft project.

Other craft possibilities (i.e., what I have material for) are: seed bead bracelet/necklaces made on the beading loom. Porcupine-quill earrings are also a possibility. Such earrings ā€” a more demanding project ā€” would be for high school age or adult crafters.

There will be no charge for the first project. For the second project, only the cost of material replacement is required. Other craft ideas and any materials donations for future craft projects are welcome.
