Community Presbyterian Church invites you to worship with us on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at 7th and F Street, or on Linda Young’s Facebook Live.
Scriptures for the day are Acts 10:44-48; Psalm 98: 1 John 5:1-6; and John 15:9-17. Commissioned Pastor Linda Young will present the morning message based on John 15:9-1 7, “Chosen”. The Holy One’s steadfast love and faithfulness are shared with all. We are called to the greatest commandment: to abide in God’s love and to love one another as God has loved us–not as servants, but as friends. John 15:9-17 says: “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business.
Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last.
Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other.”
Sunday School is available for all ages at 9:30 a.m. Bible Study is on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.
Community Dinners will resume in June and will be announced then.
