The Mineral County High School boy’s basketball team fell into fourth place in the 1A West League standings after losing three straight games last week.

DeVayne Isom scored 25 points in his team’s home loss to Smith Valley on Jan. 30. Isom also led the team with 21 points and Triston Jones added 11 when Mineral County traveled to Pyramid Lake and fell in a tight one 65-63 on Feb. 1.

Virginia City came to Hawthorne on Friday and handled the Serpents 71-51.

Coming into the tough stretch of conference games, the Serpents had won six straight and had positioned themselves near the top of the conference standings. The three losses saw their record drop to 14-11 overall and 8-4 in league play.
