Properly Subversive

I could fill this whole column – and a few more to boot – recounting Hunter Biden’s wild prostitute binges and his pathetic attempts to cover them up. Telling the IRS that a $10,000 sex club fee was a “golf membership”? C’mon, man. That ain’t gonna work.

The indictment of the president’s son last week on federal charges in California laid bare years of drugs, sex and dangerous behavior funded primarily by leveraging his DNA with foreign interests looking for an “in” to U.S. policy.

It’s a good thing this is now part of the public record. Not because the details are so salacious, but because it provides understanding as to why this whole affair is of national concern.

Obviously, Hunter experienced a prolonged state of a mental crisis. His bad behavior was funded primarily through “business” dealings with Chinese, Ukrainian, Russian and as yet unknown other interests. And, those relationships were facilitated by his dad. Hunter flew to some of these countries with his father on a government plane. Later, Joe Biden, in fact, met with Hunter’s contacts on a sustained and ongoing basis.

President Biden to this day continues to stand by the crazy line that he had nothing – nothing! – to do with Hunter’s business dealings. Photos, White House visitor logs and sworn testimony already seem to contradict that. Email messages that the then vice president wrote under a fake name have now been turned over. Standby for more to come out.

Look, we need to drop politics for a moment and focus on three fundamental facts.

  1. Joe Biden loves his son.
  2. Drugged-out Hunter Biden took money from foreign interests seeking to influence the U.S. Policy.
  3. Joe Biden met with those interests dozens, if not hundreds, of times.

If you want to be generous and call this Joe Biden’s “blind spot,” I’m OK with that for now. But the key takeaway from last Thursday’s indictment in federal court is this can no longer be ignored. It can’t be dismissed as petty partisanship. It must be fully and independently vetted. Maybe it’s a blind spot. Maybe not.

The smoke surrounding Hunter Biden’s behavior is now a full-on fire.

HARD SELL

‘Tis the season … to get sick. Nevada’s health gurus are doing their best to warn residents that the worst is yet to come as the flu, COVID and RSV bear down.

Thanks to the many federal missteps – remember the dumbass campaign of telling us that if you get the vaccination you won’t get COVID – the booster rate this year looks like it is going to be very low.

In late October, the national vaccination rate for COVID was 7%. The CDC called the rate “on target.” PBS called it “abysmal.” In late November, only 15.7% of adults had received the newest COVID shots from Pfizer, Moderna and Novavax.

I wasn’t able to find our latest vaccination rate for Nevada, but I’d suspect it is about the same or lower than the 15.7%. Selling the COVID vaccine is a hard sell, not only for the reasons above, but also the anecdotal evidence peppering social media.

For example, here’s a report last week from a friend of mine on Facebook: “So 9 people in Mom’s Memory Care have COVID. I find it interesting that they received their COVID booster on Nov. 15. I didn’t authorize Mom to get one. She is negative for COVID. So approximately 30% of the residents have COVID now that received the recent booster. This is not good.”

I’ll say it’s not good. If you’re on the fence about any of the seasonal vaccinations, talk to your doctor.

ONE MORE THING

— The inventor of the Wind Chill Factor died this year. He was 79, but felt 68.

– My advance apologies to my law-enforcement friends for the following picture.

That’ll do for this week. Until next time, avoid soreheads, laugh a little and always question authority.
