The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office has received a $97,295 grant from the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Criminal Justice Assistance, to support communications and enhance community and deputy safety.
With this grant, the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office will be able to purchase Mobile Data in-car Terminals (MDTs) that will allow deputies to send and receive information and data. Currently, multiple zones within our county have no service areas. This implementation will ensure the deputies always have up-to-date information available. Whether patrolling, responding to a call, or a potentially dangerous situation, deputies can make more informed decisions and respond to incidents with accurate information.
The goal of the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office is to have increased access to information and better assessments of potentially dangerous situations, allowing more time for patrol activities.
