The Mineral County High boys basketball team captured the Central Regional title on Saturday in Tonopah and will head to the state tournament this weekend. 

After cruising past Beatty 59-36 on Friday, the Serpents beat Lund in the title game 65-51 the next day.

Andre White had a game high 20 points, 11 steals and 5 assists in Friday’s win and  Devayne Isom followed up with 12 points and 3 assists, Tristen Jones had 10 points and 9 rebounds. 

Mineral County had 21 steals in the title game and got 23 points from Jones and 16 by White to send them to state as the top seed. Isom had 12 points and Drake Spanier added 11 in the win.

The Serpents return to state for the seventh straight year and are looking to get a fourth state championship over that period of time. The boys will open with Sandy Valley at 2:30 in the North Valley gym in Sparks on Thursday in the single-elimination tournament. 

The semi finals  will be Friday at Lawlor Events Center at 10:40 a.m., with the 1A championship game set for Saturday at noon.
