The final “Meet Mineral County’s Candidates” sponsored by the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, starting at 6 p.m. at the Hawthorne Convention Center (1942 USO building) on 932 E Street.

The candidates who will be present include Tom Gallegos and Gary Schaaf vying for the Hawthorne Township Constable position and Stephanie Flow and Kristin Reeves who are running against each other for a seat on the Mineral County School Board. Candidates will have up to seven minutes to speak to the audience who will then be able to ask them questions.

Early voting begins on Saturday, October 22 for the 2022 Primary Election. Mineral County voters can also choose their preferred candidates for other races on the ballot including State Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, State Controller, and Attorney General. Steven Horsford and Sam Peters are also running for the US Representative in Congress, District 4.

Mineral County residents may also cast their votes in person on November 8 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For those living in Hawthorne (Precincts 1-7), the Public Library on 110 First Street will be open. Those living in Schurz (Precinct 11) can go to the Tribal Community Center on 1031 B Hospital Road to cast their votes. And those in Precinct 8 (Luning), 9 (Mina), 10 (Montgomery Pass), and 12 (Walker Lake) can mail in their ballots.
