Playing in its home opener last Thursday night, the Mineral County High School football team came up short to Pyramid Lake, 28-14.
Cade Torrres led the way on offense for the Serpents with 12 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown, and Devayne Isom had 47 yards on the ground and a touchdown as well. Isom also had three catches for 66 yards and led his team’s defense with 23 tackles.
Ivan Eaton was second on the team in tackles with 12.
The Serpents had a hard time shutting down the rushing game of the Lakers. The team combined for 403 rushing yards and four touchdowns in the win.
Mineral County (0-3) looks for its first win when they travel to Virginia City (2-1) on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
