A May 30 drug bust landed one in jail

Mineral County Sheriff’s Office deputies followed up on an ongoing narcotics investigation which ended on May 30 when they made contact with a female subject identified as Sara Leon at Rock by the River Laundromat in Hawthorne.

In a press release from Mineral County Undersheriff Bill Ferguson, it states: “While taking to Sara Leon she admitted to being in possession of a large amount of illegal narcotics.”

In a search of the backpack she was wearing, deputies located approximately 25.1 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, hypodermic needle and two methamphetamine smoking pipes.

Leon was recently released from prison and was placed on parole. She was being supervised by the State of Nevada Division of Parole and Probation for previous charges of drug trafficking.

Leon was arrested and transported to the Mineral County Detention Center for trafficking of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a hypodermic needle and parole violation.
