The biggest weekend of the year in Hawthorne is here as the 69th annual Armed Forces Day celebration is set to begin. As usual, friends, family and old classmates will reunite this week to honor the military and take part in numerous events offered in America’s Patriotic Home. The fun begins today in town and runs through Sunday morning with plenty of entertainment, food and games for people of all ages. The highlight of the weekend is always the parade on Saturday that begins at noon and runs down Main Street. For a list of activities see our special section located inside of this week’s newspaper.
