A semi-truck is towed away Saturday evening on US 95 after being knocked over by winds.

US Highway 95 was closed on Saturday for high winds when a semi-truck was flipped onto its side after a strong gust of wind came down off the mountains.

The wind, common when in the area around Walker Lake, would wreack havoc on another semi and an SUV.

Residents at Walker Lake were not immune from the gusts. It is reported that one resident lost a shed, many shingles were blown off and debris blew throughout the town.

Wind gusts were reported around 60 miles per hour.

The storm which crippled the Reno area did not dump snow in Mineral County, just wind.

The road was closed for over four hours and was finally opened after the wind had died down.

No major injuries were reported.
