Armory building community cleanup

With the Boys & Girls Club gearing up soon for their summer programs, a community cleanup has been organized to tackle the backyard of the Armory Building, located on the corner of Armory and 9th Streets. Please plan to attend from 9 a.m. to noon, keeping in mind that the more volunteers the faster the workload can be achieved. You are asked to bring your own gardening tools such as trowels, shovels, outside brooms and gloves, as tumbleweeds and sand have overtaken the facilities yard area. A concentration to uncovering the walkways, basketball court and creating a corner garden will be the effort of this volunteer workday.

Future projects will be to create safe outdoor furniture seating for the club kids and raising money for a secure, shading structure.

Please be prepared to sing the National Anthem a-cappella (without accompaniment) or with provided CD. An information sign-up sheet will be provided so the final candidate can be notified.
