The Mineral County High boys basketball team sent the rest of the conference a strong message as they rolled over Pyramid Lake 77-45 in its conference opener.

The Serpents led 30-18 at the intermission and the defense took over in the third quarter. They held the visiting team to four points while the offense exploded for 26 points, giving the boys a 56-22 point lead. The bench crew took over in the fourth quarter, led by junior Jared Dore who had 17 points and 13 rebounds (7 offensive for points).

Damien Montoya had a great all-around game with 17 points, five rebounds, five assists and eight steals. Devon Davis had 13 points, Tony Dominguez had nine points and sophomore Seth Bozzi pulled down 11 rebounds. All twelve Serpents saw plenty of action and all contributed.

The Serpents hosted Excel Christian Tuesday and will travel to Coleville on Friday.
