Barbara Reuter will celebrate 40 years with Financial Horizons Credit Union in Mineral County on Feb. 27.

On Feb. 27, 1977 Barbara Reuter started working at Financial Horizons Credit Union, Hawthorne Credit Union at the time, in Babbitt. She began her career with the credit union as a teller. In 1978 the credit union moved to our current location on Main Street.

Reuter has held many positions throughout the years including loan officer and vice president before accepting her current position as President/ CEO in 2004. When Reuter became President of the credit union the asset size was $67,858,955 with a member base of 7,114 since that time assets have more than doubled ending 2016 with assets of $175,430,000 and a total member base of 11,187.

Reuter resides in Hawthorne with her husband Rick; together they have five children, nine grandchildren with number ten on the way any day and one great grandchild. Reuter said she is very thankful to have been a part of the credit union for the past forty years and is looking forward to her continued career at Financial Horizons.

Financial Horizons will be holding an Open House on Friday, Feb. 24 starting at 4 p.m.; hor d’oeuvres, cake and champagne will be served. Please stop by and share in the celebration.
