The Serpents won both games this weekend and finished the first half of conference play at 7-0. The first win was Friday night as the boys overpowered Smith Valley, 78-46. After a slow start, 13-11, the Serpents ran past the Bulldogs 26-10 in the second quarter to take a halftime lead, 39-21. The third and fourth quarters were all Serpents as they coasted to the win. Robert McFalls had a big night with 33 points. Andre Davis added 18 points; Taylen Wachsmuth finished with eight and took care of the boards. Tony Dominguez had seven points.

On Saturday, Virginia City brought a 4-0 record to the Serpents home floor where defense rules. The Serpents beat the Muckers 65-31 holding them to 19 points over the last three quarters. Offensively, the boys had their worst game with 21 turnovers, early foul trouble, but with the good defense they got their running game going which was too much for Virginia City. Wachsmuth led the scoring with 17 points and 13 rebounds for another double-double. McFalls had 15 points, seven steals, seven assists and five rebounds. Davis had 13 points and four steals. Vic Montoya finished with eight points, Dominguez had seven rebounds, three assists and four steals.

The Serpents will open the second half of the conference season at Excel Christian in Sparks Friday night. On Saturday, the boys will be home against Sierra Lutheran from Carson City. Come out and continue to support the Serpents; they truly look forward and appreciate it. Continue the run!
