Hawthorne residents and visiting motorists driving on E Street in Hawthorne near the office of Hawthorne Utilities now have the opportunity of viewing public “emergency notices” alerting citizens of emergencies and public notices from Mineral County offices. The new sign located in front of the utilities office was not purchased by county monies but from a grant obtained by the Mineral County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).

Ana Fitzgerald, office manager of the Hawthorne Utilities office maintained and regulates the information displayed on the new sign. Notices placed on the sign are for official use only from the county. Offices wanting to place emergency notices on the sign are asked to contact Fitzgerald at the Hawthorne Utilities office.
