Mineral County residents were treated to a free children’s fishing day at Rose Creek, which was opened up just for the event.
With 67 children, in total, attending, the area around the reservoir was crowded with parents and grandparents who helped their children and grandchildren with a day of fishing and family time.
Each child was presented with a fishing pole and tackle and treated to a lunch of Port of Sub sandwiches.
Mineral County Sportsman’s Association volunteers their time each year for this event.
Winning the grand prize of $100 cash was Seth Bozzi with the combined weight total. Largest fish went to Jaden Brown who won $50 and smallest fish to Cameron Dillard who also won $50.
