Blankenship and Anker

A hungry, young juvenile asking for food in the location of 195 M Street in Hawthorne led to the arrest of two parents who were asleep at home.

Parents of the child, Amanda Anker and Joshua Blankenship, were found in their residence on April 29 at approximately 9:50 a.m. Mineral County Sheriff’s Office deputies began an investigation as to where the juvenile lived. Anker and Blankenship were found in bed asleep with an unknown amount of narcotics in plain view.

In a press release from Bill Ferguson, Undersheriff for Mineral County Sheriff’s Office, the parents were charged with NRS 453.3325 drug endangered child –  two counts; NRS 453.336 possession of controlled substance; NRS 453.336 possession of marijuana less than one ounce; NRS 453.566 possession of drug paraphernalia and 200.508 child neglect.

Bail for each parent is set at $29,500. Both are currently in the Mineral County Detention Center.
