In loving memory of Lyda E. Belzer passed away on April 11 at her home in Hawthorne. She was 82 years young. She was born on November 23, 1933 in Austin, Nevada to Casey and Irene Birchim. Lyda worked at the Hawthorne Army Depot for many years then when the base went contract she moved to Herlong, Calif. where she finished out her 30 years as a Civil Service employee. She moved back to Hawthorne to enjoy her retirement and her family. Lyda was a member of several organizations such as the Pythians, Odd Follows and N.A.R.F.E. just to name a few. She has held several positions throughout her life in these organizations.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl Belzer; son, Eldon Belzer and her daughter, Darla Hamilton. Her surviving family is her son Damon (Ann) Belzer of Hawthorne; Donna (Dale) Bunnell (Colo.); sisters: Pearl Birchim (Hawthorne), Laverne (Clarence) Butler (Lovelock), Lolia Austin (Fallon) and Ray Birchim (Calif.); grandkids: LaKeitha Camacho (Reno); Carli Mitch- ell with three kids Hailie, Madelyn and Daryeon (Calif.); Stephanie Belzer with three kids: Barett, Maysiah and Cohen (Hawthorne); Mike Belzer (Brittany) and his daughter Danika (Hawthorne); Deanna (Ed) Swan with two kids Calvin and Gannon (Ore.); Kimberly (Jamison) Reno with two, kids Makayle and Logan (Colo.); Danielle Chandler and son, Terrance (Colo.); Shyanne Shover with three kids Saige (Brian) with one daughter Sawyer (Wash.) and Jessie, Koso and Shon Shover with three kids Wasyka, Anika and Hailiey (Ariz.).
She will be greatly missed from our lives, but will always be in our hearts and memories. She has requested no service or memorial.
Lyda belzer was my Aunt, My Dad was her Brother-in-law Edward willis Belzer. I was her Neice Sandi Belzer Freyermuth. From pleasant Prairie Wisconsin.I haven’t seen her since the first time I ever met her back in 1967, my family went on a vacation to see my Uncle Carl ( her husband and her and to vist my Grandpa willis J. Belzer back then .she has a nephew named Timothy edward Belzer from wildwood Mo. We will sure miss her.
