Frank Busby

Frank Busby served in the Navy during World War II. He and his wife, Ada, made their home in Hawthorne for over 60 years before relocating to Spanish Springs, to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Frank worked at the base in various capacities for 40 years. He was a supervisor for the Naval Undersea Warfare Engineering Station when he retired. After retirement, he worked with a friend on a project to relocate the Babbitt houses to various locations.

He loved to go to the El Capitan to play Keno and progressive poker machines. He even mentioned wanting to go there during his last days. Frank also loved to fish, tell stories and watch westerns. He will be remembered for his kindness, friendliness and sense of humor.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Ada and son, David. He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughters: Jerada (Pat) Conely and Diane (Bryde) Bates; grandchildren: Jen (Loren) Caudle, Jason Conely and Eric Bates; great grandchildren: Patrick Caudle and Josie and Cassidy Conely and many other relatives and friends who loved him very much.

The family extends a heartfelt “thank you” to the staff at Cascades of the Sierra assisted living facility. They cared for Frank like he was one of their own family members and we couldn’t be more grateful. We would also like to thank the staff at Renown Hospice and Renown Regional Medical Center for all of the wonderful care they provided for Frank as his health began to decline.

A memorial service and celebration of life was held on March 5 in Reno.
