Robert Leonard Peterson

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Walker Lake Golf Course in Hawthorne for Robert Leonard Peterson who passed away on Nov. 12 of natural causes. He was 76.

Bob had a lifelong passion with golf and participated in the U.S. Open playing in the Philippines in 1958, playing golf around north and southwestern states and settled in Hawthorne the last 15 years.

He is survived by wife Ruth; sisters Virginia (Paul) Wright of Potomac, Md., Dorothy Phillips and Karen Shea of Nevada; sister in law Linda Peterson; daughter Kim (Wayne) Piber; sons John Peterson of Eureka, Calif, Tom Peterson of Olympic, Wash., Jim (Janelle) Peterson of Roseburg, Ore. and Chris Peterson of Rocky Point, Ore. Grandchildren include Braden Peterson; Corby Peterson; Jessica Emerson; Brandon Emerson; Jordan Goff-Peterson and Jessica Danielle Peterson; numerous nieces and nephews. He was especially close to niece Tami Phillips and nephew Mark Phillips of Hawthorne and nephew Tim Phillips of Sacramento, Calif. and their families.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Vincent Peterson and brother Richard Peterson.
